You lead. Reason Along provides the guide.
Choose a starting point, check the preparation and work through the conversation at a pace that suits your child. Afterwards, decide what to save for next time.
Launching with maths lessons for New Zealand Years 0–6.
In development for iPhone. Not yet available on the App Store.
Step 1
Choose your child and a lesson
Select or create a child’s local profile, then choose a year to browse. Open a lesson that suits the idea you want to explore. Every profile can use six fixed free starters at each of Years 0–6, with full help and unlimited revisits. Browse the same free collection at any year or choose from the remaining catalogue with a subscription. Changing the browsing year does not assess your child or alter an earlier session’s recorded year.
Step 2
Get ready
Read “What we are learning”, “What you need” and the preparation. Open the full lesson details to look ahead. Preparation and materials vary; some lessons use everyday objects. Previewing alone does not create a session, and full lesson details remain subject to the app’s access rules.
Step 3
Talk it through
Start the session for the selected child. Work through Start together, Explore, Try it, Check and Finish. The guide provides prompts and explanations; you listen, ask and give your child time to respond. Use help where offered. Pause when needed; returning requires the saved lesson, its stored state and applicable access to remain available.
Step 4
Save and return
When you choose Save session, record whether you completed the lesson, your next-session choice and any optional short note. A draft is not a saved History record: review the details before confirming Save. Open History to see what you saved and decide what to revisit. The choices record the session, not attainment. Profiles, History, reminders and saving a session are free. Authored next steps are optional links through the available catalogue, not a promise of new lessons or an assessment of mastery.
